Mariyen

WEARING CUSTOM MARIA GABRIELA COUTURE

β€œI can’t believe you turned my dream wedding dress into reality. I am beyond grateful, and so blessed to have found you to be part of our special day.”

When Mariyen first reached out from Houston, Texas, she wanted something Filipiniana, but different. She imagined something timeless that she could wear beyond just one day. And that’s exactly what she did. She first wore her dress for their elopement, then brought it out again a year later for their first anniversary photoshoot, giving her dream dress another beautiful moment to be part of their story.

In Her Own Words

What It Feels Like to Become an MGC Bride

Hear directly from our brides as they share what the MGC experience felt like, from the first Dream Dress Call to the moment they finally wore their Filipiniana.

From Her Vision to Her Filipiniana

Every custom journey begins differently, but the goal is always to create something that feels unmistakably like the bride.

Dionna
Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œYou are so talented! I love how it looked, and it was like a dream.”

Dionna came to me with the idea of transforming our fully beaded Mayvellin gown into a fun and glamorous reception mini dress for her wedding in Boracay. Together, we reimagined the design with beautiful beadwork, sparkle, and illusion details, creating our first ever reception version of Mayvellin. Even with a typhoon on their wedding day, Dionna and Ron celebrated with so much joy, and she got to have her dream Filipiniana moment.

April
Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œI will always treasure this dress as it shows my culture to my husband and my soon to be children.”

For April, her Filipiniana was about more than what she would wear on her wedding day. It was a way to share her culture with her husband and one day with the children they hope to have together. From our first conversations, she trusted me to understand what she wanted, and together we created a dress that allowed her to carry her Filipino heritage into this new chapter of her life.

Psalm
Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œI felt like a princess, which was what we were going for! I'm so happy we got to do the reception look and our dance without the dress restricting me.”

Psalm came to me with one dream for her wedding dress: she wanted to feel like a princess. Having moved from the Philippines to Australia when she was nine, representing her roots was also incredibly important to her. We spent over a year creating her fairytale Filipiniana and later designed a custom reception transformation that gave her the freedom to dance with Lucas while still feeling completely herself.

Emma

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œThank you so much for the smooth process. I felt so beautiful.”

Emma wasn't simply looking for a wedding dress. She wanted a piece of home to wear as she walked down the aisle in the Philippines. She fell in love with our Sonya design before it even existed in white, so together we reimagined it with new lace and details just for her. As one of my very first Filipina brides, Emma's trust became such a special part of the beginning of Maria Gabriela Couture.

Christian
Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œIt was so beautiful, and thank you for assisting me when there were shipping issues. I never felt like I was just buying a dress. You were there to support me.”

Christian knew from the beginning that the traditional white wedding dress wasn't for her. She dreamed of something in beautiful nude and brown tones that reflected her individuality, and together we created a Filipiniana unlike anything I had made before. Even when shipping issues came up, I wanted her to know she wasn't navigating them alone. Her experience was never meant to feel like simply buying a dress, but having someone there with her throughout the journey.

Dhanica

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œIt's so unique. I feel like I have my grandma with me even though she's in the Philippines.”

Dhanica's dress was especially close to my heart because she's also my best friend. She had always loved our Rowena design, which we transformed from ceremony to reception for her wedding day. More than a beautiful dress, her Filipiniana became a way to feel close to her grandma and carry a piece of home with her.

Maicah

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture
β€œIt gave me peace of mind to go with you because I've seen your work, instead of working with a designer in the Philippines who I'm not familiar with.”
Maicah fell in love with our Lou design but imagined it with an elegant A line skirt. We customized the design around her vision and eventually got to meet in person during my trip to Canada. For Maicah, being able to trust the person creating her dress gave her peace of mind throughout the journey.

Kriss

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œIt was so hard to find someone who could do what I was envisioning because not only did I want a non white dress, but also a Filipiniana.”

Kriss always knew her wedding dress wouldn't be white. Inspired by our champagne Sonya ballgown, we created her dream dress in soft golden tones with Filipiniana details. She didn't have to choose between her personal style and celebrating her Filipino roots. Her dress could beautifully represent both.

Luisa
Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œSobrang ganda! Thank you for accommodating and being patient with me when I changed direction with my dress.”

When Luisa reached out from California, she wanted something simple, classic, and connected to her Filipino culture. Her vision changed throughout the process, and we gave her the space to explore what truly felt right. Through photos, conversations, and trust from miles away, we brought her Filipiniana dream dress to life.

Goldie

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œEven before I met my husband, I've always wanted to wear this design, and I'm so happy you said yes to creating it!”

Goldie had dreamed of wearing a Filipiniana like this before she even met her husband. We transformed our Lou design into a playful post wedding look that felt completely her. Even while going through surgery during the process, we worked around what life brought her so she never had to give up on the piece she had dreamed about for years.

Allison

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œEverything was so smooth. I am beyond words. You did a beautiful job, and it makes me even more excited for my wedding day.”

Allison's journey with me began years before her wedding when I created her graduation dress. When she returned and trusted me with another milestone, her original Lou inspired vision evolved into a romantic all lace Filipiniana. From graduation to walking down the aisle, creating for her again was such a special full circle moment.

Lena

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œThank you for being so kind and patient as my body went through changes in my measurements, and for making sure that it would still fit me.”

As a Vietnamese bride marrying into a Filipino family, Lena wanted her wedding dress to honor the culture and family she was becoming part of. We created one of my most detailed Filipinianas, filled with sparkle, beading, layers, and a dramatic train. Even as her body changed throughout the process, we made sure her gown continued to fit her beautifully.

Meryl

Wearing Custom Maria Gabriela Couture

β€œThank you so much for going above and beyond for my dream dress.”

Meryl originally imagined her ivory Filipiniana as a rehearsal look inspired by our Sonya design. But once it came together, she loved it enough to make it part of her reception too. Created completely online, we worked through measurements, fabric changes, and hand sewn lace details to bring her soft and elegant vision to life.
